The Intensive Care Unit Nurse:
•Provides high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
•Enhances the quality of life for patients and their families by providing compassionate and individualized care, consulting with other healthcare providers as needed.
•Demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement, staying up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines in critical care nursing.
•Maintains and advances clinical competence through ongoing education and professional development, staying current with the latest technologies and treatments.
•Participates in hospital committees and teams, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care.
This is a casual opportunity, meaning hours are not guaranteed and may vary, with shifts scheduled days and nights, rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.
Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will be $41.42 to $55.91.
About this location/unit:
Our department consists of 3-beds, with responsibility for cardiac monitoring for a maximum of 3 telemetry patients. We have a team of experienced nurses, a Patient Care Coordinator, and Shift Coordinators available to support our work.
Shuswap Lake General Hospital is a community hospital providing 24-hour emergency services, laboratory and radiology services, acute care beds for patient admissions, and obstetrical care. We offer a range of specialties, including internal medicine and low complexity general surgery.
