About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Vancity. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building efficient and reliable data pipelines, as well as troubleshooting and resolving data service issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data pipelines to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data service issues to ensure high data quality and availability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain data platform architecture
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of data processing technologies, including batch and real-time processing frameworks
  • Experience with big data and analytics programming languages, such as Python, R, and Spark
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Azure data stack, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices and security-first principles
  • Good understanding of data storage, data mapping, and modeling, as well as real-time data handling

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary range of $81,200 to $122,000, with a mid-point of $101,600
