At Aviva, we're looking for a skilled Intermediate Underwriter to join our Connect Direct Team. As an Underwriter, you'll play a crucial role in making informed decisions that impact our customers' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and underwriting coaching to agents and brokers on complex risks.
  • Communicate with customers regarding risk-related questions and follow-ups.
  • Work in an underwriting queue, using various channels to answer underwriting referrals, authorize policy bindings, and apply rules and guidelines.
  • Approve cancellations, lapses, and re-rating of policies.
  • Review client files to ensure actions are taken to improve portfolio profitability and long-term success.
  • Analyze reports to assess risk and claims exposure.

Requirements:

  • Two years of personal lines insurance experience.
  • Preference given to candidates with an OTL License.
  • CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation (completed or in-progress).
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and make effective decisions.
  • Track record of building trust and strengthening operations relationships.
  • Desire to develop skills and knowledge of those you interact with daily.
  • Ability to foster collaboration between teams and business units.
  • Focus on setting a clear vision, embracing change, and influencing others.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Organized time management skills.
