Director, Property Management

Our client, a leading real estate developer in Kelowna, is seeking a seasoned professional to lead their property management team as Director of Property Management. Reporting to the Vice President of Property Management, the successful candidate will oversee the management of both residential and commercial properties, providing strategic leadership and operational expertise to drive business growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-the-ground leadership and oversight of daily operational activities, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective operational enhancements, working closely with senior leaders to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Oversee leasing, market research, maintenance, budgeting, compliance, and asset management for assigned properties, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Lead employee staffing, development, and retention strategies, promoting a positive work environment and high-performing team.
  • Facilitate departmental training, including education on legislation revisions, to ensure team members are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
  • Negotiate operational/service contracts and monitor compliance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish guidelines to maximize customer service, efficiency, and effectiveness, driving business growth and excellence.
  • Provide on-site back-up coverage and on-call support, as required, to ensure seamless operations and high-quality results.

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field, such as business, real estate, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of property management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyageur and MS Office, with a strong working knowledge of financial reporting, budget planning, and forecasting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of driving business growth and excellence.
  • Certified Property Management (CPM) or Real Property Administration (RPA) certification, or a willingness to obtain.

Remuneration:
Competitive base pay, variable pay, annual merit pay increases, paid vacation, a comprehensive benefit plan, a matching RRSP plan, a general education and training program, and much more. The base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000, depending on candidate experience and qualifications.
