Director, Property Management

Our client, a leading Real Estate Developer in Kelowna, seeks a seasoned professional to oversee the management of their residential and commercial properties. Reporting to the Vice President of Property Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-the-ground leadership and strategic direction to the Property Management team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operational activities and provide leadership to direct reports and stakeholders.
  • Optimize systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage leasing, market research, maintenance, budgeting, and compliance for assigned properties.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to align with business growth.
  • Lead employee staffing, development, and retention strategies.
  • Facilitate departmental training and education on legislation revisions.
  • Maintain positive tenant relations and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate operational/service contracts and monitor compliance.
  • Establish guidelines for customer service, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Provide on-site back-up coverage and on-call duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of property management experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyageur and MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, budget planning, and forecasting.
  • Solid strategic problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands.

Remuneration:
Competitive base pay, variable pay, annual merit pay increases, paid vacation, comprehensive benefits, RRSP matching, and professional development opportunities. The base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000, depending on candidate experience and qualifications.
