We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our medical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine patients and take their medical histories
- Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult and refer to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations
Qualifications:
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Current Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification and current Certification considered an asset
Work Environment:
- Full-time or part-time positions available
- Locum work available as well
- Emergency department is open 24 hours, with 12 hour shifts

- Queen's General Hospital (QGH) is a 22-bed acute care community hospital
- Offers inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services and programs
- Services include asthma clinic, diabetes education, dialysis unit, family medicine, geriatrics and pediatrics, psychiatry, and more
