About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Operator - Haul Truck Trainee to join our Surface Mining Team at the Ekati mine site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of 100t and 180t Caterpillar haul trucks in a complex surface mining environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate haul trucks in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with company safety protocols and policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members using a 2-way radio system.
  • Use an electronic production data collection system (WENCO) to track production and performance.
  • Maintain equipment integrity and complete job hazard analysis reports and equipment logbooks.
  • Protect the safety and well-being of yourself and your co-workers at all times.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Completion of the Surface Miner or Heavy Equipment Operating course through the Mine Training Society, or equivalent education and experience with the simulator, operating 100t and 180t Caterpillar haul trucks.
  • Experience working in a mining or industrial setting and working at a remote site on a rotation basis is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of an electronic production data collection system (i.e. WENCO) is considered an asset.
  • Basic computer literacy, with a willingness to learn new computer skills.
