Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Abbotsford. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for the safe construction of foundations and other concrete structures on a large commercial site.
Key Responsibilities
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades required at construction sites.
- Build footings, walls, column forms, slab forms, and stair forms and parapets.
- Read and interpret drawings and/or receive instructions from a supervisor.
- Perform a variety of carpentry services, including backing, blocking, framing, installation, and other general carpentry.
- Install precast units, framing systems, sheathing, exterior trims, interior/exterior doors and hardware, windows, flooring, wall coverings, washroom accessories, and architectural materials.
- Work with minimal supervision while working alongside a team and other sub-trades to complete projects.
- Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean construction site.
- Maintain a daily log of tasks and hazard assessment cards.
- Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner.
- Adhere to Clark Builders policies and procedures.
Requirements
- The physical ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., as well as performing repetitive motions, bending, crouching, and/or kneeling for long periods throughout the day.
- The capability to work outside in extreme weather conditions depending on the season.
- The ability to work long hours while completing repetitive tasks.
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th year Apprenticeship training or Journeyperson certificate.
- Must have concrete form work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in commercial/industrial construction is considered an asset.
- Valid first aid certificate is an asset.
- Valid ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020, and WHMIS 2015 is an asset.
