Job Title: 3rd Class Power Engineer

Roquette is a global leader in plant-based ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients. We are seeking a skilled 3rd Class Power Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Shift Engineer in operating and maintaining various systems, including steam, refrigeration, compressed air, plant water, domestic water, fire suppression, and natural gas.
  2. Support systems and perform mechanical repairs as directed by the Shift Engineer.
  3. Participate in continuous improvement programs and know and respect safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental rules.
  4. Maintain confidentiality and ensure safe operation of activities.
  5. Conduct self in a professional and safe manner.
  6. Assist with equipment isolation for service, repairs, and development of energy control procedures and safe work practices.
  7. Participate in investigations, education programs, safety meetings, and toolbox talks.
  8. Adhere to SOP, Roquette Safety Expectations, safe work practices, and risk mitigation tools.
  9. Monitor Air Compressor, Air Dryer, and Air Intake System for the Utilities Department.
  10. Maintain and operate Refrigeration system efficiently and effectively within manufacturer specifications.
  11. Participate in the issuance of Confined Space Entry Permits and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTTO) as required.
  12. Perform assigned responsibilities during plant evacuations due to fire and gas.
Requirements:
  1. Must hold a valid Class 3 Power Engineer license working towards Class 2.
  2. 5 years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  3. Experience in operating large Utilities facilities, including power distribution, steam generation, vacuum systems, compressed air systems, water distribution systems, Fire Protection System, and Refrigeration system with Glycol as Secondary Refrigerant.
  4. In-depth knowledge and experience in troubleshooting required.
  5. Control room experience – monitor complex processes and coordinate critical activities.
  6. Maintenance experience – prioritize asset maintenance to ensure plant reliability.
  7. Must be able to cover shifts as the need of the Business dictates. Will be required to cover sick and vacation coverage.
  8. Must be able to work under extreme conditions, such as hot, wet, and cold environments, noise, and inside and outside of the Plant.
  9. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and be able to work at heights and inside confined spaces.
  10. Must be able to use personal protective equipment, such as respirators, SCBA, and safety harness.
