We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at RhynoCare Healthcare. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to residents in long term and acute care facilities in the St. Catharines area.

This opportunity offers a competitive wage, travel compensation, and accommodation. You will work a variety of shifts, including early morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight, with consistent hours and a set schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions, comprehensive orientations, and safe resident transfers and discharges.
  • Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.

Requirements:

  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), and a negative TB skin test within one year, as well as Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying shift times, including eight or twelve hours in length.
  • Ability to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
  • Reliability to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
  • Compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy.
