At Fox Ridge Community, we're committed to delivering exceptional Team Member Experiences. As a Recreation Aide, you'll play a vital role in bringing our communities to life.

The Recreation Aide is a critical position that impacts the lives of our residents and fosters meaningful connections. Your typical day will involve:

Participating in the development and revision of departmental procedures and programs under the guidance of the Team Leader.

Setting up activity areas as needed and assisting with resident transportation, if required.

Monitoring residents' interests, needs, and progress.

Maintaining program and resident records according to departmental policies and regularly reporting participation and feedback to the Team Leader.

Promoting social interaction among residents by leading assigned activities or special events, assisting new residents with orientation, and introducing them to others within the residence.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology, or a related field.

Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of motivation concepts.

Understanding of leisure principles and computer proficiency.

Valid driver's license (Class F or provincial equivalent, if required for bus driving).

Applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario) or Criminal Records Check (British Columbia).
