Job Description


This role involves performing inspection duties on underground tunnelling projects, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and contract specifications. The successful candidate will work closely with an energetic and high-performing team to deliver exceptional results.


Responsibilities:



  • Conduct daily inspections of tunnel construction, including monitoring contractor work and identifying potential issues
  • Complete project records and diary entries accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager to address non-conformances and implement solutions
  • Make recommendations to improve project outcomes and propose solutions to emerging issues
  • Work nights, weekends, and extended shifts as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager

Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you'll need:



  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in QA/QC inspection of TBM tunneling with precast concrete segmental lining
  • OACETT rcsi designation or PEO EIT designation (considered an asset)
  • Sound judgment and decisiveness, strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • MTO Class 'G' driver's license in good standing and access to a vehicle
