Job Summary

The Licensed Practical/Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct skilled client care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive client care outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care and ensures the highest level of comfort and dignity for clients.
  • Accurately documents all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments to identify client needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Performs all skills, treatments, and procedures competently in accordance with the provincial scope of practice.
  • Follows principles of infection control and Universal Precautions to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
Qualifications
  • Current certificate of competence and good standing.
  • Certified in CPR.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with clients and families.
