Job Summary:

As a Tax Manager at Evertz, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and review of annual SR&ED filings, as well as the preparation of calculations and working paper schedules in support of tax returns. You will also assist in the filing of US corporate tax returns and ensure timely submission of government remittances, including sales taxes and corporate taxes. Additionally, you will maintain access and compliance with financial portals and systems for Canadian and US tax filings and regulatory submissions. You will serve as the point of contact for all tax compliance audits and assist the accounting team in preparation of financial statement tax provisions and disclosures. You will also research new tax trends and regulations and liaise with external accounting firms and the executive team.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation and review of annual SR&ED filings
  • Prepare calculations and working paper schedules in support of tax returns
  • Assist in the filing of US corporate tax returns
  • Ensure timely submission of government remittances, including sales taxes and corporate taxes
  • Maintain access and compliance with financial portals and systems for Canadian and US tax filings and regulatory submissions
  • Serve as the point of contact for all tax compliance audits
  • Assist the accounting team in preparation of financial statement tax provisions and disclosures
  • Research new tax trends and regulations
  • Liaise with external accounting firms and the executive team

Qualifications:
  • Designated accountant, preferably a qualified CPA
  • Strong knowledge of CRA regulations and compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with multiple priorities and timelines
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
