Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Settlement Worker to join our team at the YMCA of Three Rivers. As a Settlement Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting newcomers as they navigate their settlement, language learning, and employment journeys in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide information, orientation, and referrals to community and government services to newcomer clients
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify client needs and create service plans
  • Act as an advocate to help newcomers access services, including education, healthcare, and legal systems
  • Enter information into government databases and prepare monthly statistical reports
  • Connect with ESL schools and community partners to provide information and orientation
Requirements
  • Completion of a community college degree or diploma in a related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in community service and immigrant settlement
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Access
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Culturally sensitive and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with confidential client information
