We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Unit Clerk to join our vibrant inter-professional team in the Labour and Delivery department at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre.

Job Summary:

The Unit Clerk will be responsible for providing administrative support to the nursing team, including answering phones, taking messages, and relaying information to staff. They will also be responsible for entering patient information into the Cerner system, making arrangements for patients requiring procedures, and transcribing and processing physicians' orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer phones, take messages, and relay information to staff
  • Enter patient information into the Cerner system
  • Make arrangements for patients requiring procedures
  • Transcribe and process physicians' orders
  • Check charts for unprocessed orders and notify the charge nurse
  • Prepare charts for new admissions
  • Maintain patient records
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 graduation
  • Graduation from an approved Nursing Unit Clerk program
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
