Job Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse with RT Medical, you'll provide care to individuals who need assistance with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness. This role involves:

  • Collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop care plans
  • Evaluating treatment effectiveness and adjusting plans as needed
  • Acting as a patient advocate to protect and promote patient rights
  • Traveling within your region to provide care to patients in their homes, clinics, or other settings
  • Performing other clinical duties as required
  • Delegating tasks as needed within your scope of practice
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing degree (BN), or be a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, or community nurse is considered an asset
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, with the ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification
  • Updated immunization records, including a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months
  • Clear criminal background check and Vulnerable Sector check upon hire
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and crisis resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, with daily travel of more than 1 hour
