Job Title: Director of Public Relations

Questrade Financial Group (QFG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Public Relations to lead our communications efforts and build a strong industry/media network. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing effective communication and media relations strategies to increase awareness and develop an enviable company image.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute innovative PR strategies with clear objectives, budget, and planned tactics.
  • Manage and coordinate public relations activities for both our consumer-facing brand and our employer brand.
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within media and key influencers.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Curate content for press releases, byline articles, and keynote presentations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an ongoing basis.
  • Build thought-leadership opportunities to grow awareness and reputation.
  • Collaborate with our social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media.
  • Generate non-traditional ideas and experiential events to further amplify our campaigns and product launches.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience in leading public relations as a function and building PR strategy that identifies value-add opportunities for the business in the marketplace.
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Solid experience with social media, including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Experience in event planning.
  • Effective relationship-building skills with the ability to work well at all levels of an organization and interact confidently with senior management.
  • Proficient in French, Mandarin, or Cantonese.
