Job Summary
The Digital Health Innovation team at Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide programming and analytic support during the design, analysis, and reporting phases of innovation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide programming and analytic support during the design, analysis, and reporting phases of innovation projects
- Generate ad hoc data sets and analyses in Python and R
- Support data management activities, including database validation, data review, and quality control
Requirements
- Strong foundation in introductory machine learning techniques and their applications
- Strong foundation in statistics and/or epidemiology
- Mastery of either Python or R (or a variant such as PyTorch)
- Experience working with large, real-world data sets
- Experience with healthcare data an asset
- Experience scraping data from the web or other public data sources an asset
- Experience working with distributed processing via Spark an asset
- Familiarity with advanced machine learning techniques an asset
- Familiarity with epidemiological study designs an asset
