Job Title: Track Supervisor

At RailWorks Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Track Supervisor to join our team. As a Track Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient construction and maintenance of railway tracks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct a crew of workers to deliver a successful project by meeting or exceeding safety goals, quality standards, production rates, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
  • Review project contracts and documents to ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Pre-plan work activities with the Superintendent to develop the best means and methods, including safety action plans.
  • Plan and execute day-to-day operations on assigned projects, ensuring proper resources are in place for timely completion of work.
  • Conduct daily briefings with crew to review production goals, performance feedback, safety, and schedule, and solicit feedback from workers.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as production reports, time collection, equipment logs, inspection reports, and extra work records.
Requirements:
  • Completion of grade twelve (12) or equivalent.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of construction experience on railway and/or maintenance environments, including experience with tie changes, constructing, maintaining, or repairing track, cutting, drilling, or gauging rail, constructing turnouts, distressing rail, rail changes, and other related activities.
  • Valid Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR) and Track Inspection Guideline (TIG) certifications.
  • Supervisory experience directing and organizing work for multiple crews of workers.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Valid class five (5) driver's license or appropriate license as required for the unit.
  • Sound knowledge of rail equipment and hand power tools.
  • Computer literacy and ability to perform time and equipment entry.
  • Physical fitness, excellent vision, hearing, and eye/hand coordination.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team.
