Modern Niagara is seeking a skilled Plumbing Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks, including servicing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned tasks and responsibilities efficiently and effectively under the direction of the Foreperson and Service Manager
  • Service, repair, and maintain a variety of mechanical systems, including plumbing and HVAC equipment
  • Operate and maintain a well-inventoried company service vehicle
  • Adhere to and uphold safety protocols and measures to ensure the safety of all employees
  • Perform additional related duties as required under the direction of the Project Foreperson

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in service plumbing in the commercial, industrial, institutional, and healthcare sectors
  • Red Seal trade qualification required for Journeypeople only
  • Backflow certification preferred
  • Class G license with clean abstract required
  • UA 71 membership required upon hiring; if not a current member
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent attention to detail when documenting tasks
  • Able to work at heights with all necessary safety training completed
  • Safety-conscious individual who respects and adheres to all safety measures while on site
  • Strong work ethic with impressive mechanical problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Hardworking individual with a strong desire to learn and grow within their position
  • Ability to work on own initiative but also within a team. Capable of mentoring and aiding the development of junior apprentices
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Competitive compensation package, including 4th Term rate - $ + 11%, 5th Term rate - $ + 11%, Journeyperson rate - $ + 11%
