Job Title: Used Car Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

LKQ Corporation is seeking a skilled Used Car Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the inbound flow of products to support our sales objectives. Your primary focus will be on purchasing high-quality used cars that meet our company's standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain purchase manifests and supplier accounts to ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Determine and plan daily routes and vendor visits to optimize procurement efficiency.
  • Deliver payment to vendors and ensure timely settlement of accounts.
  • Identify potential new customers and establish relationships to expand our procurement network.
  • Stay aware of company inventory and supply needs to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain a network of customers to sustain continuity and consistency in quality and volume buys.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and peers regarding market conditions, scheduling, and competitive situations.
  • Negotiate pricing and purchase terms with vendors to ensure the best possible deals.
  • Process orders and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Inspect products for proof of ownership and attach titles or CDs to agreements as needed.
  • Load goods onto trucks or coordinate shipment/transport, verifying manifests and accuracy of paperwork.
  • Organize delivery or delivery of products and unload goods as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of related car, procurement, yard, or warehouse experience.
  • Ability to judge the resalability of products purchased.
  • Valid driver's license and passing of MVR and drug test.
  • Medical certification for driving 10,001+ GVWR vehicles.
  • Qualification for corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift experience.
  • College coursework.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of replacement parts for the aftermarket collision repair industry.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
  • Frequent communication of complex information and interaction with management.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Occasional standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or sitting for extended periods.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Exposure to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment.
