We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our Back-of-House management team at The Gahan House. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including service management, training, and empowering team members. Our goal is to create a positive and productive work environment that fosters growth, learning, and development.

The Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience cooking in a full-service high-volume restaurant and possess excellent leadership skills. We offer comprehensive health benefits, employee assistance programs, and opportunities for professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating and communicating the company vision to team members and leading by example.
  • Working with the Head Chef to promote a kitchen culture that revolves around teamwork and passion for food preparation.
  • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS WITH TEAM MEMBERS BOTH BACK AND FRONT OF HOUSE.
  • Presenting an influential presence in the kitchen that fosters growth, learning, and development.
  • Assisting the Head Chef in ordering inventory and daily prep work.
  • WORKING ONLINE WITH TEAM MEMBERS TO MAINTAIN A HIGH LEVEL OF FOOD QUALITY.
  • Overseeing kitchen operations and cleanliness when the Head Chef is not present.

  • Takes direction, works calmly under pressure, delegates tasks, and provides direction as needed to team members.
  • Works well with others, enjoys teaching team members, and helps to grow and develop top-line talent.
  • Flexibility - Our back-of-house staff will work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
