About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication and Repair Specialist to join our team at Hooper Welding Enterprises Ltd. As a key member of our fabrication and repair team, you will be responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines to prepare metal for welding.
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including aluminum alloys and stainless steel, to meet customer requirements.
  • Apply various welding techniques, such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to achieve high-quality welds.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production and meet customer deadlines.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
  • Ability to work with a variety of materials, including aluminum alloys and stainless steel.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials as required.

  • Work with a variety of equipment and machinery, including arc welding machines, brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure efficient production and meet customer deadlines.
