Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Room Attendant to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott Nanaimo. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of our guest rooms and public areas.

Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Dust and polish furniture and fixtures to ensure a high level of cleanliness
  • Vacuum and clean carpets, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture to maintain a clean and comfortable environment
  • Make beds and change sheets to ensure a clean and comfortable sleeping environment
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries to guests
  • Stock linen closets to ensure a sufficient supply of linens
  • Clean and disinfect kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Disinfect operating rooms and other areas to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Clean and disinfect elevators to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Handle and report lost and found items to ensure a smooth guest experience
  • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Launder clothing and household linens to maintain a clean and comfortable environment
  • Mend clothing and linens to ensure a high level of quality and cleanliness
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a clean and comfortable environment
  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings to maintain a clean and safe environment
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fast-paced environment with ability to work under pressure
  • Repetitive tasks with ability to maintain attention to detail
  • Physically demanding with ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
