Job Title: Shelter Worker

Maison Baldwin House is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shelter Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to women and their families in need.

Job Summary:

The Shelter Worker will be responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for clients, while also assisting with daily operations and administrative tasks. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, while also respecting their autonomy and dignity.
  • Assist with daily operations, including housekeeping, meal preparation, and maintenance of the shelter.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and community agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to client services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports, as required.
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g. social work, counseling, etc.).
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably in a shelter or social service setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
