Job Summary

Candu Energy Inc., an AtkinsRéalis company, has partnered with Nuclearelectrica S.A. to provide engineering and technology support for the life extension of SNN's Unit 1 CANDU reactor at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant in Romania. As the exclusive licensee of the Canadian-owned CANDU intellectual property portfolio, AtkinsRéalis is the leading organization in CANDU reactor life extension projects globally.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to company procedures and policies.
  • Assemble, repair, and maintain nuclear inspection and mockup equipment.
  • Participate in equipment testing programs.
  • Prepare route sheets and edit documents.
  • Complete prioritized work requests on time.
  • Become a nuclear energy worker (NEW).
  • Be willing to travel to vendor and project sites if required.
  • Maintain contaminated nuclear tooling and refurbishment activities.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of Collegial studies in mechanical technology or relevant technical experience.
  • Working experience between 2 and 4 years in mechanical assembly / testing / repair of nuclear inspection tooling and shop equipment.
  • Competency with hands-on tooling skills, and trade qualifications are recommended.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Word / Excel / Teams / Visio / SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with nuclear standards an asset.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate manual skills and dexterity.
  • Knowledge of established engineering design principles and methods.
  • Acts with initiative and works within the team.
  • Have a working knowledge of industrial shop practices.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience an asset.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, Swagelok training an asset.
  • Coordinate manufacturing and RP work when needed.

Security Clearance is a requirement for employment. (Candu & Customer site: OPG/Bruce Power)
