About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Groundwater Expert to join our Environment & Water – Geo-environmental team in Whitehorse as a Senior Hydrogeologist.

Job Description

This exciting opportunity involves working on a variety of hydrogeological projects, including developing and implementing groundwater investigations, designing and installing water wells, conducting aquifer testing, and risk assessment and management projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing field investigation programs, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating with clients and contractors.
  • Overseeing and providing technical guidance on borehole drilling, well installation, and maintenance, hydraulic well testing, and surface and groundwater sampling.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports.
  • BUILDING THE BUSINESS THROUGH PROPOSAL WRITING AND INDUSTRY CONTACTS.
  • Assisting in managing work schedules, controlling budgets, and working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior and intermediate staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or geosciences (Master's degree is preferred).
  • Familiarity with provincial regulations and a willingness and aptitude for project management and business development.
  • Strong work experience on field-based investigations in physical hydrogeology, groundwater supply, and hydrogeological assessments.
  • Demonstrated competency in soil and rock sampling and geotechnical soil and core logging, drilling, test pitting, well installations, water quality sampling, and hydraulic response tests.
  • Groundwater analysis using AquiferTest or AQTESOLV.
  • Occasional travel may be required in this position.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience, plus hybrid work options when not in the field. Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.
