Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to fill a long-term substitute position in our district. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a variety of educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a variety of educational settings
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support
- Communicate with parents and guardians to ensure students receive consistent support
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario teaching certification
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
