Job Title: Interior Design Technician

We are seeking a skilled Interior Design Technician to join our team at Flora DiMenna Designs Inc. As an Interior Design Technician, you will be responsible for creating interior spaces that reflect clients' needs and tastes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate cost of projects and prepare detailed specifications
  • Create interior spaces that meet clients' needs and tastes
  • Read blueprint, schemas and drawings to understand project requirements
  • Advise on selection of colours, finishes and materials, lighting, furniture and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards
  • Consult with clients to determine needs, preferences, safety requirements and purpose of space
  • Develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting and other fixtures
  • Develop plans, elevations, cross sections and detailed drawings
Requirements:
  • 3D graphic software skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, Autodesk REVIT, InDesign, MS Excel, MS Word, and SketchUp
  • Experience in interior design, architectural design, commercial domain, kitchen, restaurant, furniture design, hotel and catering industry, trade fairs and exhibitions, project management, chronic or long-term care facilities/centres, residential, retail business, and construction
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
