Role Overview
BMO is seeking a skilled Financial Planner to join our team. As a Financial Planner, you will play a key role in helping our customers achieve their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial and investment planning and advice to customers, determining their needs and providing solutions through the sales of managed products and services.
- Proactively engage with new and existing customers and prospects, providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify immediate/future opportunities.
- Implement business development strategies to acquire new business, including outbound calling campaigns and cultivating branch referrals.
- Engage customers to grow BMO's business by reaching out, generating appointments, and building new relationships within the community.
- Identify opportunities during customer conversations to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products.
- Support the achievement of sales and performance targets.
- Develop and implement a relationship management plan to meet the needs of clients.
- Respond to customer investment requests, fulfilling investment product needs aligned with the customer's goals and referring the customer to partners where appropriate.
- Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Break down strategic problems, analyzing data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
- Introduce clients to investment strategies and work with clients to set goals and make real financial progress using appropriate guidance tools.
- Probe to understand customer personal investment and banking needs, integrating marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice.
- Look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall business results and customer experience delivered.
- Maintain current knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends, integrating into customer conversations.
- May work at multiple branches and through various channels based on market needs to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
- Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Protect the Bank's assets and comply with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
Qualifications
- Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must meet the regulatory/governing body licensing and registration requirements of a Financial Planner in the province or territory of employment.
- Advanced working knowledge of the financial industry.
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

Compensation
The starting salary is $55,000, with upward commission potential. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.
