About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Metro Inc. in the Fruits and Vegetables department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the department, including purchasing, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  • Supervise and train a team of sales associates to ensure they are meeting sales targets and providing excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving merchandise, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Ensure that all sales associates are aware of and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in visual merchandising and display of products to create an attractive and inviting shopping environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail or grocery store environment, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
