We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Lead to join our client's software development team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and mentoring to four Agile development teams.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a minimum of 10 years of experience. They will be comfortable working in all tiers of a typical web application and have a deep understanding of RDBMS, OO, and SOA. Experience with Java or Python development skills is preferred, but .NET is acceptable.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to four Agile development teams.
- Support product management/technology leadership in defining, sizing, and prototyping new products.
- Work with the Director of Software Engineering and Chief Technology Officer to drive the definition of the company's Technology Roadmap.
- Manage two principal engineers assigned to the company's platform project.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software development.
- Exceptionally comfortable working in all tiers of a typical web application.
- Deep understanding and experience with RDBMS, OO, and SOA.
- Experience working on multi-tenant SaaS products is highly desired or deep experience working on complex web applications.
- Java or Python development skills preferred, but .NET is acceptable.
- Experience with continuous delivery and automated testing.
- A strong working knowledge and belief in Agile development.
- Knowledge of PCI, OWASP, and e-commerce technologies is highly desirable.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented with strong desire and ability to learn.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Experience managing small teams (2 to 5).
- Casual dress, every day of the week.
