We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Resident Assistant to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care to residents living in a small home environment, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Assist with meal preparation and serving
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Assist with medication administration and other healthcare-related tasks
- Grade Xll education required
- Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program
- Foundation to Therapeutic Recreation or willing to obtain
- Food Handler Training Certificate or willing to obtain
- Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills, including Outlook/Email, and ability to adapt easily to online training programs
- Minimum of one-year recent relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with an older adult population
- Demonstrated compassionate, empathetic, and nurturing personality
- Demonstrated ability and desire to care for the older adult population
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing situations
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
