Registered Nurse, Anaesthesia Care Unit

As a Registered Nurse, Anaesthesia Care Unit at Providence Health Care, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, identify, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care required to assist patients/residents in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise the plan of care, incorporating individual and/or group teaching into the care plan and nursing interventions.
- Provide direct nursing interventions for management of crisis and life-threatening situations, and document information including assessments, plan of care, patient/resident status, and progress.
- Accompany patients in medical transport vehicles as required by the employer, and facilitate discharge plans and liaise with families and community resources agencies.
- Advocate for the patients/residents, to protect and promote their rights to dignity, respect, privacy, confidentiality, autonomy, and access to information.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, or in Residential Care and Mental Health, currently practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Completion of a postgraduate critical care course, or two years' recent experience in an equivalent setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and ability to work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to apply decision-making and analytical skills, and ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work, and ability to operate related equipment.
