About the Role

Vantage Community Services is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Youth and Family Counsellor. As a key member of our team, you will work with young people and families to provide a supportive and structured environment that fosters personal and social growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a structured setting that promotes the development of appropriate personal and social functioning for each resident.
  • Provide effective support and guidance to young people, utilizing the Circle of Courage model to develop therapeutic relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical and group care team to provide a therapeutic milieu.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and participate in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and in-service training.
  • Administer medication according to policy and CAC Standards.

Requirements

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Human Services, such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people is preferred.
  • Current Standard First Aid/Level C CPR, PIC, IRC, and Valid Driver's License.

Vantage Community Services offers a competitive salary range of $40,380-$51,818, placement on the union salary grid based on education and years of relevant experience.
