Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Planning Leader, Clinical Programs to join our team at Fraser Health. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate projects related to the preparation and movement of specialized clinical program areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned projects related to the integration of specialized clinical program areas, including idea generation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Provide strategic advice to groups on complex multi-stakeholder, multi-disciplinary change initiatives and provide skilled leadership throughout each step in the process.
  • Coordinate and project manage within a strategic change context, overseeing the development and implementation of plans.
  • Function as a strategic resource to ensure that an optimal structure, design, and implementation of the change(s) is/are in place to achieve desired outcomes and benefits.
  • Coordinate and align teams with other clinical initiatives to avoid duplication.
  • Provide clinical support to develop tools and templates for the team's review, utilizing best practice literature, guidelines, and stakeholder expertise.
  • Support day-to-day management of the initiatives, completing work for the team, providing progress monitoring and reporting to steering committees, including identification, management, and mitigation/resolution of risks and issues.
  • Liaise with key support areas and stakeholders to ensure critical support outcomes are achieved, negotiating/facilitating resolution of any impediments to progress and success.
  • Apply change management principles to develop engagement strategies and action plans to maximize the likelihood of success.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, such as physicians, to ensure input into clinical design, processes, and outcomes.
  • Identify and manage key stakeholder strategies and work closely with designated teams and Communications to develop communication strategies.
  • Identify and establish appropriate team structure(s) and membership for initiatives, including sponsorship, champion, clinical working, advisory, or steering committee(s) and delivery and implementation teams.
  • Assess and articulate the impact of initiatives from a systems perspective and manage the impacts and interdependencies with other initiatives at Fraser Health.
  • Assist in the development of project documentation, such as proposals, charters, work plans, risk management plans, communication plans, etc., as required.
  • Partner with programs and other departments in the development, maintenance, and promotion of relevant goals and objectives, demonstrating relationship building for integrating with partners.
  • Participate in evaluation and refinement of tools and methods as required, assisting in the development and presentation of project updates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field, Planning or Business Administration.
  • Seven years' recent related clinical operations experience, including planning, project management, and/or organizational transformation, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    • Working knowledge of change and project management principles, coupled with a strong understanding of the healthcare system and the clinical program being supported.
    • Knowledge of other healthcare disciplines and their role in healthcare.
    • Ability to motivate and influence leaders, physicians, and staff at all levels to embrace and take action on transformation initiatives.
    • Diplomatic negotiation and interpersonal skills and ability to influence without formal authority.
    • Ability to provide leadership to a variety of project teams in an environment in which issues are constantly surfacing and priorities fluctuate routinely as new initiatives enter the portfolio.
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
    • Ability to operate a standard PC and effectively utilize a variety of software applications to support initiative management activities.
