Job Title: Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management

At American Express Services Europe Limited, we're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Enterprise Risk Management team. As Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management, you'll be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks across all processes at Amex Bank of Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an enterprise-wide risk management framework to identify, measure, monitor, and report on risks.
  • Promote a risk culture that emphasizes integrity and effective risk management.
  • Support the development and review of the Bank's Risk Appetite Framework.
  • Establish risk tolerance limits for Senior Management review and ensure adherence to established risk escalation guidelines.
  • Supervise and report on the Bank's risk profile relative to the risk appetite.
  • Establish processes and controls to assess the accuracy of risk information provided by business lines.
  • Review and approve risk management-related policy exceptions.
  • Follow up on actions taken by Senior Management in response to identified issues.
  • Lead the bank's enterprise-wide stress testing activities.
  • Provide oversight of risk management activities and core risk controls.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Enterprise Risk Management for a Canadian banking institution.
  • Professional certifications in risk management, such as FRM or CFA.
  • Strong business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective.
  • Familiarity with local regulatory requirements, such as the Canada Bank Act and OSFI/FCAC guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
