Hydrologist and Public Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrologist and Public Health Specialist to join our team at Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
About the RoleThis challenging position involves preventing and controlling diseases transmitted by contaminated water or poor sanitation and hygiene. You will be responsible for maintaining a reliable water supply, constructing or upgrading sanitary facilities, and promoting hygiene practices.
Your job will require you to work closely with medical and non-medical staff on the project team. This includes training and supervising other team members. A strong emphasis is placed on adapting to changing situations and demonstrating flexibility in your behavior.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a reliable water supply for healthcare facilities and surrounding communities
- Construct or upgrade sanitary facilities, ensuring proper waste management and disposal
- Organize and promote hygiene practices among staff and local populations
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A technical degree in civil, geological, mechanical, or environmental engineering, with a focus on surface water, underground water, treatment, distribution, and discharge
- At least two years of relevant post-qualification work experience
- Proven ability to manage and train staff in multicultural teams
- Excellent command of English, as well as proficiency in French (level B2) or another language such as Arabic or Spanish

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
