About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team at CIMA+. This is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the design of high-level electrical systems and participate in large-scale energy projects.

Job Summary:

  • Design Protection and Control (P&C) systems using 2D software (AutoCAD).
  • Prepare project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical schematics, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineering team members as well as project managers from other disciplines.
  • Participate in the development of electrical systems for Control and Protection, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, AC three-wire diagrams, DC protection and control diagrams.
  • Participate in site surveys (substations and power plants).
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines: switchgear, civil, and building engineering disciplines to develop optimized and advanced substation and power plant system design solutions.
  • Ability to perform sporadic site work when the opportunity arises (commissioning or supervision).

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development
  • Design Protection and Control (P&C) systems using 2D software (AutoCAD).
  • Prepare project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical schematics, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate with engineering team members as well as project managers from other disciplines.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure project success.
Site Surveys and Inspections
  • Participate in site surveys (substations and power plants).
  • Conduct inspections and gather data to inform design decisions.
Team Collaboration
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines: switchgear, civil, and building engineering disciplines to develop optimized and advanced substation and power plant system design solutions.
Professional Development
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Pursue ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of protection and control principles and philosophies is an asset.
  • Knowledge of digital substation designs, station design (IEC 61850) is an asset.
  • Experience working in electrical systems design is an asset.
  • Experience using AutoCAD software is an asset.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Basic knowledge of the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Location: This role is based in Canada, with opportunities for remote work.
