Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PR Account Manager to join our team at Beattie Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering creative PR, media relations, and press trip activity, while supporting the senior team and contributing to the continued growth and success of the agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for client portfolios, including proactive management of client or media crises.
- Build and maintain relationships with top-level local, national, and international media to secure client coverage across various sectors.
- Host events, dinners, meet and greet site tours, and media/influencer trips to foster strong relationships and secure media coverage.
- Plan and execute media and influencer drops, gifting, and sponsorship opportunities, as well as client-facing activities such as weekly briefing calls, reports, and strategic planning meetings.
- Collaborate with the agency director on business development activities to secure new clients and PR projects, including building pitches, engaging in research, and participating in presentations.
- Mentor and oversee junior team members, ensuring they meet agency standards and best practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in PR or a related industry role.
- Previous account management experience.
- Proficiency in using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and MailerLite (or similar marketing programs).
- Competence in using Microsoft Office and cloud-based software.
- Understanding of the Canadian media landscape and beyond.
- Established network of media and influencer contacts, with a proven track record of securing media coverage.
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of traditional and digital communications platforms.
- Previous experience working in an agency.
- Travel/hospitality experience.
- Event planning experience.
- Ideal candidate would have a college diploma/university degree in PR, Journalism, Digital Marketing, or Marketing.
