The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Advisor to join our team in Ottawa. As a key player in the support and development of our agency operation, you will be responsible for providing inbound sales and service for life and wealth products, as well as utilizing your knowledge of personal lines and specialty lines to advise and recommend coverages and policies that best meet client needs.

Your Impact:

  • You will drive profitable growth through inbound sales, service, and sales of both personal lines and specialty lines products.
  • You will actively prospect for all lines of business by identifying and recommending additional products/services that benefit the client.
  • You will complete front-line risk assessments and selections following underwriting guidelines, and perform inspections and re-inspections as needed.
  • You will achieve individual goals for client service, sales, quality, and productivity, and contribute to the achievement of overall agency sales and growth goals.
  • You will respond to client questions and concerns, resolve customer complaints, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • You will proactively complete client reviews on auto, home, farm, and/or commercial portfolios.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years insurance industry experience, including sales experience.
  • General Insurance license is required.
  • Life License is an asset.
  • You must meet all provincial-licensing requirements in accordance with continuing education to obtain and maintain all licenses.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and strong underwriting skills is an asset.

  • You are required to have a valid driver's license.
  • You must maintain strict confidentiality with respect to client's financial status and other personal information.
  • This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
  • You will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment.
