Overhead Door Corporation is currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Garage Door Installation Assistant to join our team in the Vancouver branch.

About the Role

This permanent, full-time position involves working as part of a two-person crew, assisting in the service and/or installation of residential or commercial doors while learning on the job from a seasoned Garage Door Technician. As an apprentice, you will have opportunities for advancement and career growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, ensuring excellent customer service and quality workmanship.
  • Foster a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff, construction project managers, customers, other tradespeople, and safety personnel on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with the Garage Door Technician to learn the trade and provide support as needed.
  • Perform general warehouse duties and be available for on-call shifts.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-6 months' experience in a relevant trade, such as construction, welding, or millwright.
  • Strong resourcefulness, integrity, and work ethic, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are essential.
  • Any relevant safety training and certifications, such as WHMIS and Fall Protection, are highly valued.
  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required.
  • SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST PASS PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING DRUG, ALCOHOL, AND HEALTH ASSESSMENTS.
