Nurse Practitioner Role in Oncology
At BC Cancer, we are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing exceptional cancer care. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in managing the care of patients with various types of cancer, including hematological, lung, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, breast, brain, and head and neck cancers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients with undifferentiated diseases, illnesses, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic investigations as needed.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance cancer care.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Eligibility to complete the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) through the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum of four (4) years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
