About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with syndicated information suppliers to acquire appropriate data sources that meet the changing needs of Maple Leaf Foods in Canada and the US. This will involve ensuring data integrity and leveraging analytic teams in external supplier organizations to deliver high-quality results.

You will also work closely with teammates who specialize in consumer, customer, and pricing research to build a comprehensive picture of consumer demand and MLF in-market performance. This includes collaborating with partners in Information Services to develop and implement research tools that employ current technologies such as AI to improve efficiency and effectiveness of mining big data sets.

In addition, you will have responsibility for cross-category analyses and summaries for use by Senior Leadership team, Board of Directors, and Investor communications. You will also develop thought leadership presentations on emerging trends and changing consumer behaviours that impact MLF's business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages relationships with syndicated information suppliers to define and acquire appropriate data sources
  • Ensures data integrity and delivers high-quality results through collaboration with external supplier organizations
  • Collaborates with teammates to build a comprehensive picture of consumer demand and MLF in-market performance
  • Develops and implements research tools that leverage current technologies such as AI
  • Presents findings and insights to senior stakeholders, including the Senior Leadership team, Board of Directors, and Investors
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years' experience generating insights using NIQ and/or Circana data sources
  • Bachelor's degree and/or MBA with focus on Marketing and/or Market Research and/or Statistics
  • Coaching/training experience to develop analytic knowledge and capabilities of others
  • Experience with the development of advanced analytic applications that leverage current technology
  • Exemplary communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation
  • Thorough knowledge of database structures, particularly NIQ or Circana market measurement services as well as household panel data
  • Advanced skill with Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI
