As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of HVAC mechanical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and Interpret Project Documents: Review and analyze project documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and takeoff of labour and material to prepare for pricing project change orders.
- Assist with Project Pricing: Collaborate with the project team to assist with pricing projects on which the company is bidding.
- Develop Project Schedules: Create preliminary project construction schedules using MS Projects or other planning software, incorporating input from subcontractors and staff to inform pricing of time-related activities.
- Manage Project Budgets: Prepare, monitor, and update construction budgets throughout the project to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
- Prepare Delay Claims: Assist with the preparation of delay claims when necessary, ensuring adherence to contract specifications and company policies.
- Ensure Contract Compliance: Verify adherence to contract specifications by policies and procedures of the company.
- Close-Out Projects: Assist in the preparation and submission of close-out documents for projects to achieve timely substantial completion and handover.
- Engineering Background: Hold an engineering background or university degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Project Management Experience: Possess 2+ years of experience in construction project management, with a strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and analyze contract documents.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Possess computer skills and working knowledge of scheduling and various software programs, with experience in mechanical project management in the installation and commissioning of ICI mechanical projects being an asset.
- Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel to work sites as required.
