Job Summary:

The Customs Analyst will be responsible for verifying and processing customs documentation for immediate release. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate must reside in the greater GTA area and have a valid driver's license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process release of shipments for all modes of transport to CBSA as SWI
  • Understand perishable shipments and the importance of following up
  • Process, assemble, and present paper package releases to Canada Border Services Agency when required
  • Manage Outlook and answer customer inquiries
  • Draft and send emails to clients and carriers for missing information for Customs release
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls by phone
  • Drive to carriers or CBSA locations for after-hour requests

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field
  • Strong organization skills, able to prioritize work while keeping strict deadlines
  • Attention to detail, able to handle large volumes of work with accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving skills with memory retention for all clients SOP/instructions
  • Ability to read and understand Customs documentation
  • Strong knowledge of the Customs tariff, regulations, and Customs act
  • Experience handling various OGD shipments, multiple types of permits
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to work without supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with Descartes ITMR4 would be an asset
  • CCS designation or enrolled would be ideal
  • Must be able to type with a minimum of 45 wpm
