Outreach Doula Position

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking an experienced Outreach Doula to support an integrated traditional wellness program for Indigenous clients in the Downtown Eastside community.
Key Responsibilities:- Support Indigenous clients during pregnancy, labour, and early postpartum periods with culturally safe care.
- Work in an interdisciplinary team to provide health system navigational support and connection to cultural practices.
- Collaborate with VCH maternity staff, medical staff, and community service providers to advance improved health outcomes for Indigenous people.
- Offer non-medical biopsychosocial support and companionship throughout the perinatal period.
- Completion of a Doula Training Program and 2-3 years of experience working with Indigenous communities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Valid BC Driver's License and ability to operate related equipment.
- Culturally safe care practices and knowledge of Indigenous cultural safety.
- Ability to work with Indigenous communities and Elders to build positive relationships.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
