As a carpenter at our company, you will be responsible for preparing layouts in accordance with building codes, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining various materials such as wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel. You will also build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, erect walls, and roof systems, fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, and instruct apprentices.
Our ideal candidate will have 5 years or more of experience in the field, equivalent education, and relevant certifications such as Carpenter Trade Certification, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and other necessary licenses and memberships.
The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to work accurately and efficiently, and demonstrate reliability, judgment, and team player qualities. They will also be willing to relocate, work at heights, in confined spaces, outdoors, and in noisy environments.
In addition to a competitive salary, our company offers bonus opportunities, a valid driver's license, and travel expenses paid by employer. Our ideal candidate will be available for shift or on-call work, available for the advertised start date, and willing to travel regularly.
