Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at Brandt's Red Deer Agriculture location.

Job Summary

This is an entry-level position that will involve detailing equipment, organizing the equipment in the yard, and possibly delivering customer units. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of dealership premises, including grading, leveling, snow removal, weed spraying, cutting grass, ensuring sidewalks are clean and safe, and other maintenance tasks as required.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in pursuing an apprenticeship and developing their skills in heavy-duty equipment maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Detailing heavy equipment once repairs have been completed
  • Maintaining wash bay equipment and cleanliness
  • Cleaning parts and components
  • Cleaning and maintaining the yard and shop
  • Assisting with dismantling heavy equipment and components
  • Organizing equipment in the yard and maintaining dealership premises (grading, leveling, snow removal)
  • Some inventory maintenance
  • Assisting other shop personnel with fulfilling duties and increasing overall shop productivity
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong interest in pursuing an apprenticeship
  • The ability to demonstrate safe and efficient workplace practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The capacity to carry out and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The capability to meet the physical demands of the heavy-duty equipment environment (lifting up to 75 pounds)
  • The ability to work under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications would be beneficial:

  • Forklift experience and heavy-duty parts handling
  • Previous mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Experience detailing equipment or vehicles
  • Familiarity operating heavy equipment
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license; a Class 1A license would be an asset
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
